Happy Negroni Week!
5th June 2017
We are celebrating ‘Negroni Week’ in style here at Slingsby HQ, with specially designed cocktails by our very talented mixologists. Each day this week, we will post a new Negroni cocktail recipe for you to try at home!

Monday 5th June – Louise’s Negroni

This Negroni is a very traditional style. Why mess with something that has been great since 1919?

30ml Slingsby London Dry Gin
30ml cinzano 1757 Rossa
30ml Campari

Stir down and serve in a glass straight from the freezer over ice, garnish with grapefruit and atomized saline solution (if you’re feeling creative).

Tuesday 6th June – Fig Sbagliato

Sbagliato means “mistaken” in Italian and while the Negroni Sbagliato is said to be the result of a busy bartender mistakenly using sparkling wine instead of gin in a Negroni, we think it turned out great. Here at Slingsby we never mistakenly use our Navy Strength gin!

25ml Slingsby Navy Strength Gin
25ml Fig Liquor
20ml Cocchi vermouth di torino
Top with prosecco

Build over ice, top with Prosecco and garnish with a Maraschino cherry.

Wednesday 7th June – Slingsby Rhubarb Negroni

We have taken the very traditional Negroni and introduced our delicious Yorkshire Rhubarb Gin and Aperol for a fun and fruity twist!

25ml Slingsby Rhubarb Gin
15ml Aperol
10ml Campari
25ml Cocci Rosa

Stir down with ice and garnish with a rhubarb ribbon.

Thursday 8th June – Auburn Negroni

Rhubarb and Ginger is such a classic pairing hence the king of ginger liquors being paired with our Rhubarb gin here at Slingsby. We have also used controversially Aperol not the traditional Campari for this Negroni as it is a little less bitter. If you are after a sweet spin on the classic Negroni try our strawberry blonde version.

30ml Slingsby Rhubarb Gin
10ml Kings Ginger
30ml Cocchi Rosa
20ml Aperol

Stir all ingredients with ice and strain into a chilled rocks glass over ice. Garnish with an orange peel.

Friday 9th June – Negroni Blanco

This spec plays on the great flavor combination of white vermouth and gin while incorporating the essence of grapefruit- the citrus base for Slingsby gin. So why not make a negroni inspired by the always stirred and never shaken dry gin martini with a grapefruit twist.

25ml Slingsby Navy Strength Gin
30ml Cocchi Americano
20ml Luxardo Maraschino
4 drops Grapefruit Bitters

Stir all ingredients with ice and strain into a chilled rocks glass over ice. Garnish with an grapefruit peel.
