Tour de Yorkshire 2019

Tomorrow marks the start of the Tour de Yorkshire 2019! Kickstarting in Doncaster this year, the four-stage race will hit all four corners of the county before finishing in Leeds City Centre on Sunday 6th May.

After being inspired by the Grand Départ in 2014, this is the fifth edition of the men’s race which has this year been upgraded to HC by the UCI and will visit 150 villages, towns and cities on its route. The Asda Tour de Yorkshire Women’s Race will also take place over two days on 3rd and 4th May.

As cycling enthusiasts and their families gather for the big event, we didn’t want you to miss out on our top spots for sipping a Slingsby G&T or Slingsby cocktail throughout this year’s route.

The Ivy, Harrogate

After all that cheering on day two on the Tour de Yorkshire, it’s time to enjoy a sophisticated Slingsby G&T in a tranquil environment. True to its spa town location, sit back and relax as you escape from the crowds and indulge on a fine menu of food and drink. Weather permitting, you could also dine in its terrace garden.

… And just a stone’s throw from Montpellier Quarter, you could also pop in to the Spirit of Harrogate store to pick up your favourite bottle to take home or sample some of our experimental gin recipes.

Westpark, Harrogate

Staying in Harrogate for the whole Bank Holiday weekend? The West Park hotel, restaurant and bar is Harrogate’s destination venue to sleep, eat and drink. Overlooking the stunning Stray, the restaurant provides an all-day menu including a courtyard for dining al fresco and some refreshing Slingsby G&Ts on a spring afternoon.

Foundry Project, Harrogate

Calling itself the happiest place in Harrogate, carry on the Tour de Yorkshire celebrations at the Foundry Project in the heart of Harrogate town centre. Whether you’re looking for late-night cocktails or a boozy brunch with a side of G&T, this is a great place for a Bank Holiday weekend.

If you’re in Harrogate for the whole Tour de Yorkshire weekend, also check out Threes a Crowd, The Yorkshire Hotel and Fat Badger.

Ink Bar, Scarborough

Sun, sea, sand and Slingsby! We may not be able to promise sunshine, but we can certainly guarantee a refreshing Slingsby G&T by the seaside on day three of the Tour de Yorkshire 2019. Welcome the contestants back to the town of Scarborough as they race to the finish line along North Bay.

Gin Lane, Halifax

Wave off the cyclists from the final starting line in Halifax then head to Gin Lane at The Piece Hall knowing you’ve given them a great send off. Bringing a unique, modern and enchanting gin drinking venue to the town, Gin Lane is the perfect place to enjoy a Slingsby G&T in style – it is Bank Holiday after all.

Botanist, Leeds

After a long day cheering on the cyclists, relax, indulge and socialise in the wonderful Botanist. Located on the top floor of the Trinity Leeds, sip on a botanical refreshment and if the sun is shining, enjoy the city view on its terrace.

Revolucion de Cuba, Leeds

Be transported to the Havana sunshine to celebrate the end of this year’s Tour, Cuban-Style. You will find Revolucion de Cuba on the corner of Lower Briggate and Call Lane in Leeds City Centre, a great venue to enjoy a refreshing Slingsby G&T while sampling Latin-inspired tapas and enjoying the afternoon entertainment.

Don’t forget to keep your eyes peeled for the Slingsby and Carthy & Black Land Rovers which will be taking to the roads in the Tour de Yorkshire 2019 Caravan! Find us on Instagram, Facebook and Twitter to see what we get up to.
