COWES WEEK 2016

COWES WEEK 2016

News

On Monday Amy, Alex and Georgina headed down to Cowes in Isle of Wight for Cowes Week – the worlds largest sailing regatta!

Slingsby was the main sponsor of Cowes Week Ladies Day which celebrates, supports and encourages women in sailing. On Ladies Day, Amy and Georgina went out on the Fever-Tree rib with Dee Caffari – a British Sailor who in 2006 became the first woman to sail single-handed and non-stop around the world in both directions. They all handed out Slingsby G&T cool bag sets to randomly selected boats who flew the Slingsby Ladies Day flag and Alex hosted fabulous Slingsby tasting sessions on top of the Fever-Tree bar throughout the day. We also hosted the fabulous Ladies Day reception on the evening and Amy announced the winner of the Ladies Day trophy!

We also officially launched the new Slingsby Navy Strength gin on Ladies Day….where better to launch a Navy Strength gin than at Cowes Week!? We had a special serve available to purchase on the Fever-Tree bar and also ran a mini treasure hunt throughout the day. The team hid 5 Ladies day flags around Cowes with a message in a bottle attached to this. Whoever found it won a bottle of Navy strength gin! One of our winners turned out to be Olympic Ski Cross Athlete, Emily Sarsfield!

Slingsby was listed on a number of bars over the week including the Solent Events VIP bar where we had our own chill-out area with cushions and deck chairs.
